History::
You think your life is hard and complicated? You should trying living in Rosalinda's shoes. Rosalinda Maria Montoya Sanguini is half witch, half vampire. Her mother Elizabeth was a pureblood witch that came from a well known pureblood family that believed that magic should be kept in all magic families. Despised mudbloods and hated halfbloods. Elizabeth thought that she believed the same until she met a very mysterious young man. Robert Sanguini. The surname Sanguini is derived from the Latin sanguineus, which means "of blood," "bloody," or "bloodthirsty." So she should have guessed that he was a vampire but she didn't, instead Elizabeth found herself falling in love with him and he had fallen for her.
By the time Elizabeth found out that the love of her life was a vampire it was too late to back away. She tried to forget about him, she tried to leave him alone but she couldn't stop thinking about him, despite the danger that he could kill her before she even so it coming she made a choice it didn't matter to her if he was a vampire, to her he was just Robert the man that she loved and wanted to share her life with.
It wasn't long before Elizabeth found out that she was pregnant, she was scared and many family members begged her to get rid of the baby, do anything that would kill the life that was growing inside her to save her own life but she wouldn't do it, she couldn't do it. The pregnancy however did effect Elizabeth's health as the pregnancy went on, the stronger the baby came the weaker Elizabeth became. Elizabeth was forced to drink blood to support the baby even though it made her terribly sick afterwards. She knew that even if she survived the pregnancy she wouldn't live to see her baby grow up. She made Robert promise that no matter what happened he would look after their child. At first he wouldn't make the promise, he just kept saying that nothing was going to happen to her. Eventually when Elizabeth was 7 months pregnant she had to go to St Mungo's, she wasn't even strong enough to sit up in her bed.
The healers were informed that the child Elizabeth was carrying was half vampire so she had to be put on a private ward. Elizabeth's parents blamed Robert for what he had done to Elizabeth, said that he had ruined her life. And the life of the child. They got to him so much that he just left, he didn't wait around to see how Elizabeth was doing or wait around to see his child be born. In fact Rosalinda was born a hour after her dad walked out of her life. Elizabeth's parents choose to not tell Elizabeth that Robert had left until she was stronger to face it. But Elizabeth didn't get stronger, she died shortly after naming small baby daughter Rosalinda Maria Montoya Sanguini, it was June the 20th, 1901. The strain that the pregnancy had put on Elizabeth's body had just been too much.
Elizabeth's parents, Camilla and Frederick was going to give their grand-daughter up for adoption, give her to a couple that couldn't have children of their own, give her to someone who didn't know what kind of father she had - what half of she was. But after taking one look at the small little bundle they fell in love with her, they didn't have the heart to give their only grand child away. They would figure out a way to bring her up, it was going to be hard, they knew that and they had no idea what to expect with a half vampire child but they were up to the challenge. Camilla wasn't going to let her grand-child down again, Rosalinda needed some kind of parents and since she couldn't have her real parents then her grand parents would just have to do.
A lot of people said that they were crazy for even considering to bring a child up like that, a lot of people thought that she would be too dangerous when she get older and didn't deserve to live. Someone even offered to kill Rosalinda for them - to save everyone else from the monster that the little girl will eventually become they kept saying to them. But Camilla wouldn't allow it - they moved away to the countryside. Away from the gossip and threats. After all living with death threats all the time was no way to bring up a innocent little girl.
As Rosalinda got older she was like any other normal child, loved to play with her toys, annoy the adults and of course argue like any other family. Rosalinda loved to play out in the garden in the fresh air, the wind blowing though her hair, She liked to go out in the sunlight but it was uncomfortably bright, on the sunny days she preferred to stay in the shade.
Rosalinda couldn't understand why she was different to her grandparents, Her senses where more sensitive, her reflexes were quicker, her skin was deathly pale, stronger than any child her age. She was only 5 when she started asking questions. At first Neither Camilla or Fred wanted to tell her the truth, it had been hard enough trying to explain to her about magic never mind bring up the subject about her father and the fact that she were half vampire. They explained the best they could to the young child, it was hard to explain to her that she would out live them, after all it wasn't an easy thing to kill a vampire, they were immortal - could live forever and Rosalinda was no exception. She would stop aging and live forever. Being only half a vampire she could survive on food, it would keep her strong but it wasn't as satisfying as what blood was even if she hadn't tasted it yet.
She promised that she would behave and not go scaring other children, more importantly she promised that she wouldn't hurt or kill anyone. She kept her promise, but as she got older, it became harder to control her instincts. She could smell the blood and some people just smelt so good, it took every ounce of self control she had to not sink her teeth into them. As she got older as well as her thirst, her magic abilities came to light, when she was 9 she had one of her clumsy periods and fell down three flights of stairs and through a window - yet when she landed on floor she wasn't hurt in fact she bounced when she hit the ground like you would if you landed on a bouncy castle.
Her life were complicated, to make matters worse while she was on a shopping trip in London she caught the most delicious scent, she couldn't help herself, she found herself following them, it was like she was in a trance. Before she knew what she was doing she had sank her teeth into the poor person, they were already dead when she realized what she had done. She ran away as far as she could, hiding in some woods, she sat down against a tree and stayed there, thinking about what she had done, the guilt she had felt, she had no reason to kill him. Her life hadn't depended on her need to feed on blood, She had done it for her own selfish need. She felt like a monster. If Rosalinda have had her way she would have stayed in them woods safely away from everyone she could hurt but her friend, Edward had tracked her down and held her, he convinced her to come back home, He told her that she wasn't a danger to anyone, after all he was holding her and she hadn't tried to kill him. He convinced her to come back home and they would look after each other, he told her that he would help her control herself.
When she was 11 she got a letter to attend Hogwarts. Normally anyone would be pleased to go, look forward to it but Rosalinda didn't want to go, her limits would be really pushed to the test. She would be put in a school with hundreds of innocent people, what if She wasn't able to control herself? Rosalinda wasn't going to go, she wouldn't put loads of people at risk. Professor Dumbledore came to her home and convinced her to go to Hogwarts. Rosie was very cautious, all the way though the meeting she held onto her grandmother's hand. He said that Rosie wouldn't be a danger to anyone else, her secret would be kept safe - no one would know, only a few selected teachers would know what she were. And that there would be an unlimited supply of blood flavored lollipops for her, if she struggled with her self control.
Rosalinda finally agreed that she would go and she was actually excited but if one person got hurt because of her then she would leave. At the platform she got some stares from muggles and once she got on platform 9 and 3/4 she got some stares from the adults and older kids but that was because of her pale complection, anyone would think that she was seriously ill.
She sat in a compartment on the train by herself the whole way. Rosalinda resorted to sitting there with a blood flavored lollipop the whole way. She didn't need it but it was there as a last resort - just in case. Once she was in Hogwarts they were both sorted into Gryffindor, she talked to the other students in her year but Rosalinda kept her distance from people. It wasn't a great first impression and Rosalinda was sure that people just thought that she thought that she was better than them and that was why she didn't want to interact with them but that was not the case she wanted to make friends, but couldn't because she didn't want to put anyone else in danger, she just felt like an outcast. But being an outcast was better than getting close to someone and then them getting hurt because of a situation that they shouldn't have been put in the first place.
In her dorm she would sit on her bed and pretend to be asleep, she never really slept though, she only really slept and hour or two a night - she just didn't need to sleep. She would listen to the others asleep and she would screw her hands up tightly into balls as she tortured herself in her mind, just been in the same small room. Stuck in a close space, been able to smell their blood and not been able to distract herself, it was torture in itself but as the nights went along she got used to it, so much that by the end of her first year she barely noticed their sweet scents anymore. It was easier to ignore the smells but she couldn't afford for one second to let her guard down.
Everything was going fine until her 6th year at Hogwarts, she had a few close friends and was doing well in her classes but the problem came when like any other girl her age, she took an interest in a certain boy, she tried to avoid it, she tried to forget about it - she went out of her way to avoid him in the corridors and classes but he didn't seem to want to leave her alone. For his own safety she pushed him away - was horrible to him - cruel even. Always telling herself that it was for his own good. It was safer and easier for him to stay out of her life whether he wanted to or not. Desperate times caused for desperate measures she called on the help of one of her friends, told him the truth that she liked him a lot and it was because she liked him that they had to hurt him to keep him away. He agreed with her and he threatened the poor guy, he got the hint and stayed away from Rosalinda but it started a hatred.
When she were in defense against the dark arts, they started studying vampires in more detail. Rosalinda tensed at the very word of it all, she felt the boy's eyes on her throughout the whole lesson, like he had finally figured out what she really was. Eventually she couldn't take much more, as soon as the lesson finished she was up and out of the room before the bell even went. When it was lunch time he made a comment to her in front of everyone that was anywhere in earshot that she was as 'pale as a vampire'. It was only a simple saying but the way she tensed at the words was answer enough for him to say he was right, he had figured it out.
Rosalinda said she would handle it, he was only saying it to wind her up. She waited till it was just her and the boy in the common room late that night. She had hissed at him, told the guy that he was right, but that she was only half vampire and if he dared tell another soul then she would kill him, she had told him that she had been good over the last few years, she had been able control her blood lust with the occasional relapse, she went after animal blood and not human, even though it was very tempting in a school. She scared the poor guy into silence. He wasn't the same person after a night alone with her anyway.
Her 7th year went without a hitch, she passed her NEWT's and no one else found out about the other half of her life. Graduation came and Rosie found herself in tears on the last day, going into the real world wasn't something she thought she was truly ready for. Being thrown into the real world was a big step, she had to face real life on her own which was going to be hard, after all now that she was 18 because of her vampire half she would stop aging, How could you explain to someone a few years down the line how you still only looked 18? it was impossible.
Regardless she needed a job, she had good grades, shouldn't be too hard. Least that's what she thought, at first it was easy to get a job. Rosalinda got a job in the ministry but her good luck streak didn't last very long after a year of being employed, people started to talk. Someone had found out from a former teacher at Hogwarts that Rosalinda Sanguini was a half vampire, a blood sucking killer. Rosalinda was questioned and then fired from the ministry, their excuse was that she couldn't be trusted.
She threw things against the wall in her temper, broke several things in her room, Yes they had enough money for them to survive and buy them nice things but that wasn't the point, it was the boredom, she had god knows how many years ahead of her and nothing to do to fill the time up. What was she going to do? She couldn't get a job, everyone thought of her as a monster. Several very lonely years passed. When Rosie was 29 her Grandmother passed away. She organized the funeral but didn't attend the funeral herself, she knew that if she was there then no one else would turn up, and she didn't think she would be able to cope with seeing that happen, their grandmother was a good person and a good witch. Deserved to be remembered.
A year after their grandmother Camilla died, her grandfather passed away. Life was unfair, it put things in the horrible perspective that their grandparents had told her all them years ago - she would out live them, out live her friends.... everyone. Doomed to live for all eternity alone.
As the years went by, she did manage to get a few jobs, none of them paid very much but it was all a good distraction. Whenever she went for a job interview she just told them she was 18, and that she had just graduated hogwarts, it was a small lie and a few employers fell for it - others didn't and demanded that they see her birth certificate or any form of ID, she always told them that she had left them at home and that she would have to go get them - she never went back to them places afterwards. She knew that they would never want to hire a vampire - even if she was only half a vampire the risk would be too great.
When Rosalinda turned 34 she decided that she was going to track down their father, see what he knew and ask him why he left her mother before she were born, even though he had made her mother a promise that he would look after her if anything happened to her. She found out that her father was a particularly very blood thirsty vampire and was very dangerous. Still not caring about the danger she tracked him down to where he was last seen.
On the first meeting with her father it didn't really go well. He told her that getting with her mother was a mistake that should have never happened. He said that Rosalinda was a mistake and that she shouldn't exist. She had wanted to rip her father apart in her temper but she resisted the temptation. Instead she pointed her wand at his heart and sent killing curse after killing curse at him. Told you it wasn't easy to kill a vampire, it took several killing curses before it had any effect.
She felt horrible but what else could she have done? Going back to her grandparents old house - well her house since she had inherited it. She made the decision to sell the manor - it was a large property and since she was the only one living in it, it seemed a waste since there were families out there that would love to be living in a home that size. So she sold the manor and bought a small cottage, on the outskirts of a small town. The town was that small that it was the sort of place where everyone knew each other - everyone had grown up together. A place where you couldn't really get yourself into trouble.
In her spare time, and she had a lot of spare time she taught herself how to play the piano and wrote music and songs - to her it was relaxing, she enjoyed it. No one heard her play, she was very shy when it came to her music, she found it intimidating to play in front of people.
As the years went by she could see the world changing, getting darker bit by bit everyday. She stopped reading the papers after awhile she didn't want to read about the deaths in the papers or read about you know who and his horrible deatheaters. Killing someone just for the sake of killing was just wrong and reading about the way people have been tortured till they were begging for death. And even then they didn't die quickly and more or less painless. Least when she killed someone (not by her own choice) she didn't make her victim suffer it was over quickly - the victim would be dead before they even realized what happened.
She heard a lot of stories that were going round, she had heard someone say that you know who was only scared of Albus Dumbledore, she had heard a lot about him from different people and met him herself when she was 11 and he had talked her into going to hogwarts. She had come to respect him a long time ago. She even found herself wishing she could go back to Hogwarts - it was one of the safest places she had ever been even though just been there took up a lot of her self control and a lot of her concentration. If someone was going to save everyone then he was.
Rosalinda made a choice to stay neutral when the war starting kicking off properly. After all when people found out what she was, she was both hated and feared. If it was the other way round no would fight for her so why the hell would she risk her own life fighting for people that wouldn't give a damn if it was the other way round. To them she was a monster that couldn't be trusted, why should she bother to try to change their minds? The order weren't much better than the deatheaters in Rosalinda's opinion.... an order member had murdered someone, that made them just as bad as death eaters. How were they expected to save everyone if they were killing people like death eaters? She lost her faith in Dumbledore been able to stop you know who, yes he was just as strong as you know who - if not stronger than him but how could he save anyone when he had let someone kill someone in cold blood? they were supposed to be the good guys.
She had seen him as one of the greatest wizards there was, she had respected him and believed that he good and that was was going to help everyone - but the disappointment was knowing that he wasn't much better who know who himself - Rosalinda used to think that she was a good judge of character, she began to doubt herself. It was painful having to think that one person she had looked up to and respected turned out to be just like everyone else.
Rosalinda was asked several times to join the order, everytime she refused, she didn't see why she should join. Dumbledore came again to talk to her, she told him she trusted him but she wasn't going to risk her life for a bunch of people that she didn't know and wouldn't do the same for her. She declined but did say that she would help out at Hogwarts if she was needed.
When the dark lord fell, life became easier for Rosalinda. She was able to keep to job for more than a few months. However her few years of happiness was sort lived when the dark lord returned to power, she agreed to help with the Order, on the promise that she could have a quiet life afterwards. She has just celebrated her 97th birthday and professor Dumbledore asked a favor of Rosalinda - that she returns to Hogwarts to help keep an eye on the students, having a young appearance made her perfect for the job.
Personality::
Rosalinda isn't very open with her personality, not many people know what she's like before she keeps people safely at an arms length away from her. She doesn't let people too close to her with the fear that her thirst may get the better of her and wouldn't be able to control herself from hurting the people that she cares about. Yes she can survive on food because she's half human but she has to admit that blood is so much more satisfying.
Rosalinda is a classic bottle-it-up type of person. She wants nothing more than to be a normal witch, a normal human like everyone else. Her mind is very private, never lets anyone know what she's thinking because she knows that it wold never be something they wanted to hear. A lot of the time Rosalinda prefers to be by herself because to the wizarding world she is an outcast, no one really wants much to do with her, some out of fear, others because she's different. Rosalinda has learnt to accept it and ignore it but having to face all of eternity alone is a very scary prospect. She loves to just sit and read, get lost in the words of books it distracts her from the monster that she knows that she can be.
She is very observant of other people and is very attentive to detail. She can tell more about person with the way that they act and by the facial expressions more than what she can by their words. She takes great enjoyment in trying to guess what people are thinking. She's very reserved and terrified of getting close to anyone, she would rather push people away, she's 97 yet she only looks around 18. No one takes her seriously which is really detests. Who wants to live forever when you have nothing to live for?
She takes extremely good care of her possessions when she has control of herself, when she's not reading she'll be playing the piano in her home or writing a song, it relaxes her and its someway to get her emotions out when she has no one to talk to, of course she has her diary to pour her heart out to but there's only so much you can write in to book that no one else but you is going to read.
She doesn’t have a knack for flying, back when she was at school she used every trick in the book to get out of flying lessons or signing up to quidditch, the thing that scared her was not the flying part and making a complete fool out of herself - it was the fact that the whole school would be there - innocent people - that she would hurt if she couldn't control herself. She has a lot of House spirit though and was very proud to be a gryffindor.
Few people know that she is in fact half vampire, she likes to be very secretive about half of her life, they wouldn't want to know her if they knew she was a vampire and if people got too close to her then it put their lives in very serious danger. What if she lost control of herself and they were hurt? turned into a vampire... or worse killed? Rosalie couldn't live with that kind of guilt on her chest. She had killed before when she had lost control - that didn't mean she couldn't do it again if she wasn't careful. Although there are few close friends that are aware of her secret, she was stupid enough to let them get close to her and by the time she realized it was too late to push them away - the few close friends that know are ok with it and do tend to make jokes about it.
She is very guarded to new people, acquaintances, and even just friends that weren’t close because she fears they would be scared of her, run away. Tell everyone that she was a blood thirsty vampire. She fears that one day everyone will leave her and to the wizarding world she would be nothing though to be quite honest with the war going on and to the death eaters she may as well be nothing, she's only half vampire and so not worth the time. She doesn't like the deatheaters or Voldemort - what right does he have to kill people because they are half blood or muggleborn or kill them because they don't believe the same things as them, it just horrible.
She’s a little jaded to derogatory remarks (but not completely), and extremely compassionate to others since she’s experienced meaner sides to human nature. She’s mostly unprejudiced, in that he tries to keep an open mind about half-breeds and creatures as well as humans, but no one can be entirely nonjudgmental. Vampires and Werewolves have always had issues with each other and a whole lot of history that Rosalinda tends to fall asleep to whenever someone tries to explain it to her, cause werewolves scent is very different to that of a human, Rosalinda can stand the smell but tends to avoid werewolves if she can. She’s happy for romantic people, but knows that’s something she doesn’t plan to engage in because she’s not safe enough to be employed.
She wishes whole heartedly that she can meet her soul mate, she's a hopeless romantic at heart and she does find herself terrible jealous when she sees couples together, She's envious of it and its what makes her wish she could be like any other normal person to be in a relationship to be able to fall in love without any fear. Start a family.... Rosalinda wants nothing more than to just feel like a human and not lust over the delicious blood smell.

Appearance
Description::
Rosalinda is a very unique looking girl because of her striking appearance, her teeth are pointed so she tends to not smile very often, and if she does smile, then she makes sure she doesn't show her teeth. Because of her very pale complection she has an innocent, vunverable look about her. She only has plain dark brown eyes but the way they sparkle when just the right amount of sun hits them they are just so captivating, they can capture the opposite sex easily but tends to avoid getting close to people. Because she half vampire she's stopped aging. She only looks 18 years old in appearance despite her 97 years of being alive. Rosalinda can also go out in the sun but can find it uncomfortably bright, she tries to avoid the sunny days. She prefers the safety of the darkness of night.
Her hair is medium-long in length. She doesn't really think much about it, she leaves it down and straight but she does like to style it differently when she gets bored. Everyone always asks how she could look so amazing and still not have a lucky guy for herself even though guys have tried. She never really told them why she never let any guy get close enough to her to be a friend never mind to be in a relationship. She has a medium size nose and likes to hide her ears in her hair. She either wears her hair up when she is in the kitchen, she loves to cook, experiment with the different ingredients. She does usually just wear her hair down though because its easier to cope with that way. She also occasionally makes her hair wavy or curly, just for a change.
Rosalinda isn't too tall or heavy. She stands at about 5'2" but she really doesn't let her height issue stop her from doing anything like dancing or singing or having a career even if she hasn't achieved it, she isn't even trusted to be employed because of what she is. She was last weighed in at about 110 pounds which she has no problem with. She dances which keeps her in shape and then when she is just relaxing she writes music and also sings of course.

RP Example
The weather was getting colder, it was raining almost everyday, well you got a light rain everyday at least. The wind blow a cold wind so you had to wear a coat, and pull it tightly around you whenever you went out. Rosalinda didn't mind the cold weather, she preferred cold weather over warm sunny weather, Sunny warm weather to her was uncomfortably bright - she avoided going out in the sun if she could. Some days she couldn't avoid going out in the sun, especially in august, so she would resort to sunglasses and staying in the shade as much as possible.
She tossed some of her long brown hair behind her shoulder as she walked up the stone path to the front door of her little cottage that she lived in with her brother. They lived in the small village of Bibury, a very old cotswold village that has small cottages with honey colored stone. It could easily be called one of the most beautiful villages in England but that wasn't the reason why she had moved there - they moved there because it was quiet. All the villagers that lived there all knew each other - they had all grown up together. The short of place that was very difficult to find trouble in. She sighed slightly as she pushed the front door open, it wasn't locked. She never left the front door locked. What was the point really? nothing happened here, and people tended to stay away from her. Rosalinda tended to ignore the comments she had to listen to them for so long that they didn't really bother her that much. The stories that went around about her was amusing half the time because so far none of them had come to the conclusion that she was a vampires - or even half vampire.
Going into the kitchen of her small cottage she picked up a piece of cold pizza from the night before and took a bite. It wasn't very appetizing. Blood was way more satisfying than any food, but she had to eat more often when she was living off normal food.
Finishing off the pizza, she headed upstairs to her room. Her room was very simple, a walk in wardrobe full with shoes, tops, trousers, skirts, dresses... you name it and Rosalinda's wardrobe had it. She had shelves and shelves full of books, she loved to read. Reading was a good distraction, she could quite easily open a book shop with the amount of books she owned. Picking up the first book of the nearest shelve she settled down on the bed. Pulling the pillow up as she lent back against it. She tended to avoid reading romance stories, it made her very envious of the lives that normal people had - they could get close to people without the fear of one day losing control and killing them. Rosalinda knew that if she got close to someone then she would have to fight the urge to kill them on every minute of every day that she was near then and she didn't think she could do that. Rosalinda didn't have the strength to have her heart broken like that.
She sat there reading that book for good knows how long, the sky was getting darker, by the time she looked at her clock it was almost midnight. She frowned slightly. She put her book mark in between the pages of the book of where she had got to. She stretched slightly as she stood up. yanking the curtain open of the window she sighed as she watched the rain freeze on the window. Stupid dementors patrolling round the village again. She pulled a face before shutting the curtains again with snap.
