Headmaster's Office

The headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Albus Dumbledore's office and residence is inside this tower, and is entered via a staircase guarded by a stone gargoyle on the seventh floor. It was originally the private chambers of Godric Gryffindor. The office is a large and beautiful round room with windows that have a view of the Quidditch pitch and the mountains surrounding Hogwarts. It is decorated with portraits of previous headmasters and headmistresses, including Dilys Derwent, Armando Dippet, Phineas Nigellus Black, Professor Everard, and Dexter Fortescue. The desk is enormous and claw-footed with a highly polished surface and a high-backed chair. On the wall behind the headmaster's desk is a shelf that holds the Sorting Hat and beside the Hat, Godric Gryffindor's sword is contained in a glass case.
