It's 1996, and everyone is finally beginning to accept that the Dark Lord has returned. More and more people believe that Harry has been telling the truth all this time, and they feel more afraid than ever before. Parents fear for their family's safety, and are doing what ever they have to in order to keep their families together. Hogwarts is becoming a ghost town with more students remaining home as a result of the second coming of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.
As for those remaining students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, the upcoming year is to be like none before. With the constant threat of a security breach on the school. students have been warned to watch their every move. Trust is a trait hard to come by in times like these, and just because Hogwarts is safe haven for those who seek it, evil and darkness are always lurking just around the corner.
The trio has made their return, though not without the ever present warnings that danger is nearer than they know. Harry is still grieving the death of his godfather, Sirius Black, and Ron, though he has known for a few years now, is still getting over the fact that his rat, the animal he cared for for twelve years, turned out to be a servant to the Dark Lord himself. Hermione, as always, has turned all of her focus on her studies.
With romance, relationships, the stress of higher level classes and harder exams blooming right before the entire student body's eyes, tension is high and the pure terror of the Dark Lord's return isn't the only thing on everyone's minds. Taking a side isn't hard for many, but for others motive and opportunity will lead them to do things they never imagined. As time races on, and the Dark Lord grows stronger so does the rebellion against him. The Order is rising again, students are banning together, and the general population is preparing themselves for the second war of good against evil.
.. There's only Minutes to Midnight.
