Andromeda Tonks was walking relatively fast to get up to Dumbledore's office. She had to see him... or to at least see what might have been his office... It had been too long since they last met... and she was worried... deeply.
Her steps faultered as she noticed the sense of quiet in the hall and her gaze lowered, brown eyes closing as she forced herself calm, brown hair falling in tangled curls. Her dress, pure red with a sash of gold around the waist, was almost hanging off her. It was one of the older gowns she owned, and it didn't fit too well.
Her gaze was on the stairs as she re-opened her eyes and swept her hair from her face, stumbling over someone's bag left in the hallway. She didn't make much noise just a quiet squeak of surprise as she pitched forwards, bringing her arms up to stop her fall, pushing up slowly and ignoring the laughter around her.

Kelly was doing her rounds, been head girl she had to make sure the prefects did their job and that people behaved themselves. She had given up on trying to tell Demeter, she wouldn't listen to her anyway. She had just walked up from the dungeons when she saw Andromeda walking pretty fast up the stairs, like some of the other students she had to look twice because Andromeda really did look like her sister Bellatrix. But Andromeda had softer features.
She rolled her eyes as the other students laughed as Andromeda fell on the stairs. "Come on everyone, keep walking. You all have classes to go to." She said sternly to some of the 3rd years that were hanging round. She bent down to help her up. "Hey, need any help?" She asked kindly.

"No, thank you." Andromeda replied softly, her tone neutrally calm even as she rose, smoothing her dress down for the third time since she'd entered Hogwarts. She looked over at the girl beside her and barely hid the smile that came to her. "Unless you'd care to accompany me to the headmaster's office?" She offered the words quietly, clearly a lot less stressed than she had been.
The girl looked young, and kind. Clearly a Ravenclaw as the badge on her robes showed. Probably the kind of girl her family would hate, but she didn't mind much, she wasn't at all like most of her family after all.

Kelly stood up as Andromeda stood. "I'm Kelly Jones." She said with a smile. "I'm head girl." Which Demeter was still very annoyed at the fact that she wasn't named Head Girl. She glanced round at the few students that were still hanging round. "Go on..." She said simply, she folded her arms as she waited till they went.
She turned back round to face Andromeda. "I walk you to professor Dumbledore's office." She said kindly, knowing that some of the students would know doubt play some kind of prank on her. Least if Kelly walked with her then they shouldn't do anything.

"Nice to meet you Kelly... I'm Andromeda, Andromeda Tonks." As she began to walk she was careful to keep in-stride with Kelly, somewhat thankful the girl had agreed to come with her, this way she might escape pranks and bullying, yes bullying.
She remembered well the time when people would leave her alone simply because she was Bella's sister. Now that time had passed and it left her clear for younger people to bully, although most were still kind.

"Your Bellatrix Lestrange's sister arn't you?" She asked kindly. "I had to look twice earlier." Well Andromeda looked alot like Bellatrix - except her eyes were kinder than Bellatrix's. Now Kelly wasn't scared of Demeter or Damian but Bellatrix, that was a different story Bellatrix was one scary woman.
She glanced at Andromeda as she walked on. "I met your daughter the other day.... she's really nice. Helped me out." She said with a smile.

"My daughter's like that." Andromeda smiled, clearly proud of her child. "Well-behaved mostly I must say." She paused as she throught back to those times when she was a favourite with Bella and Cissa, her eyes flickering with smouldering sadness. "Yes, I'm Bella's sister, not that she'd ever get caught admitting it." She meant it despite feeling a little sad.
Her daughter was proud of her though, well mostly, she still hadn't forgiven the name she'd been given. "There are a few ways to tell us apart... one way is the slight clumsiness I seem to have going..." Here Andromeda shrugged a little. "The others are more easy to notice, if it's light out.... I'm sure you've noticed we have slightly different clothing styles, not to mention our hair curls a little differently." She kept walking, slightly shy of the girl despite her younger age.
Truth be told it had been a long time since she saw the headmaster, and she was feeling strangely young again.

She was going to say that she looked more sane than what Bellatrix does, but that would be very insensitive. "I would love to become an auror but with things been how they are... I don't stand much of a chance even if my grades are perfect to become one, I'm a muggleborn." With he who must-not-be-named running the ministry she wouldn't stand a chance of getting a job because of her status.
"I tend to avoid Bellatrix, I've only met her once." She said honestly. "And it wasn't very nice experience, I wasn't watching where I was going and walked straight into her." She was lucky to still be alive to tell you the truth. "I might be able to avoid Bellatrix, but I can't avoid Demeter."

"You may want to watch your step with Bella." Andromeda smiled slightly. "She has a tendency to get angry quickly... not to mention hating muggles and their kin." She paused then added. "Personally I'm amazed Nymphadora survived the Ministry's last mess..."
The girl had wanted to be come an Auror. "You'll get your chance at working for the Ministry I'm sure... especially if the rest of the Wizarding world pulls together and tries to keep the Death Eaters away..." She'd heard the name Demeter and smiled again shortly. "Kelly... I'm sure she mentioned nearly making a friend at some stage... although not to me personally, I get my details through sneaky devices."

"A very sort temper, quite lucky that I'm still alive actually." She tucked some of her hair behind her ear. "Demeter and Damian are just as bad, if not worse." She said weakly. She taking a risk talking about Demeter and Damian to their aunt but she that guessing that Andromeda wasn't exactly close to her niece and nephew.
She shook at her head when she said that Kelly would get her chance at working for the ministry if the wizarding world pulled themselves together. "Everyone's too scared, most of the muggleborns have gone into hiding.... I won't, I'm not ashamed of who I am and neither are my sisters." She said looking at her.
She smiled slightly. "As much as Demeter won't admit, we could have been friends in our first year. She was actually nice to me when we met on the train, we got along... until we were sorted into different houses and she found out I was a muggleborn." It was strange how quickly people could change towards someone.

"Evidently Demeter inherited her mothers crazy." Andromeda sighed. "She needs friends from what I've heard." She glanced around as they continued to walk, amused by how quickly students parted in front of her. "Others hide because of shame, my Ted never has and he's doing well enough." She was touched to know that Ted's brand of rebel was still alive. "Never let anyone do you down Kelly..."
The sigh that escaped her as she thought of what must have happened when Kelly met Bella was heavy, pained almost. "Don't take it too personally Kelly, almost everyone's beneath 'darling Bella'. She's grown up thinking it and I doubt it'll change..." She paused then added. "I half-think You-know-who prayed on her cause he saw weakness there..."

"yeah that she inherited, She's like a mini Bellatrix which is rather scary if you ask me." She said with a weak smile. "I mean I'm not scared of Demeter, I've known her for nearly 7 years - I couldn't be scared of her even if I tried" She said with a smile, though Bellatrix now she really was a scary woman. "I've got my sisters to look out for, I'm not going to hide like a coward" She was a proud ravenclaw, and the sorting hat was seriously considering putting her in Gryffindor before it placed her in ravenclaw.
"If you don't me asking but weren't you brought up to believe the same, I mean Narcissa is nicer than Bellatrix but still hates muggleborns and halfbloods." She was curious to know why Andromeda was different. "She does like to think that she's his most loyal now doesn't she, you would have thought that after spending 14 years in Azkaban she would have changed. Though saying that she should be serving a life sentence." She folded her arms, she turned the corner to go up some stairs. "I just hope Demeter and Bellatrix see's sense before its too late. As much as I don't like Demeter - I don't think she'll be able to cope if she lost her parents again."

"A mini-Bella?" Andromeda had sounded downright shocked and she was slightly shivering. "Oh god... don't give me that image please..." She meant it too, it was really rather terrifying to think of. "I'm sure your sisters will be glad that you have such a strong mind and will."
Andromeda's gaze dropped a little and she spoke softly. "I got away easy... I was the middle child." She glanced up again finally, unashamedly shaking, clearly upset by the memory of what had happened. "Bella was born slightly off-kilter and well... she never really got over that... Askaban has just made her even worse... I'm sure Voldemort adored knowing she was weakened." The pause was filled by nothing but slightly ragged breaths then she spoke again. "Cissa was beaten witless by our mother... she never really got over it and her views got changed... she was going to be like me... understanding." Her gaze flittered over to Kelly then back to the wall. "I got off because mom was busy with Cissa and daddy was chasing after Bella..."

"I'm the oldest, its my job to look out for them." She said glancing at her. "We only really have each other, our parents are ashamed that they have witches for daughters." She didn't even know why she was telling Andromeda all this, she didn't really know her but there was something about her that Kelly knew she could trust.
She nodded as she understood what Andromeda was saying, if Kelly had listened to what her own parents said then she would have never gone to Hogwarts but Kelly had stood her ground, she had been determined to go and here she was. "Well your lucky, from what I heard theres not that many nice members from the Black family. I think theres only you and Sirius Black." Sirius had been proven innocent last year.

"Pretty much just me and my family... and Sirius." Andromeda confirmed with a slight smile. "He's fantastic really, even if most thought he did that awful thing." She shooke her head slightly, clearly relieved he had been proven innocent. "He would never have done that... if it had been Bella, Cissy or anyone else I might have believed it."
Her gaze flickered over to Kelly and she spoke softly, clearly warming to the girl. "You and your sisters are always welcome to come down to us during the holidays." This she meant and her smile was soft. "Your parents may well be ashamed, I know Lily's sister was..." She'd found this out from Sirius, who the girl had written to at times of missing magic. "You're sisters are welcome to come down if they need to, you too if need be... although I don't doubt you'd rather stay here."
