"There's gotta be somthing I'm forgetting..." Coryn Lestrange sighed to herself as she looked around the mess of her room. "Something really important too..." she added, walking around, digging through piles of clothes and books. She really needed to clean this mess, but as usual, she didn't feel like it. Cory liked her room messy, it was the way she found everything, except now. She had forgotten what she was looking for and that really wasn't like her. She looked back at her half-packed trunk, thinking it might be in there. She dug through it hoping, but of course as she couldn't remember what it was, she didn't find it.
Cory growled to herself in anger and stomped around, before throwing herself on the bed in sadness and anger combined. Her light auburn hair fanned over her head and arms, and she breathed in and out, trying to calm herself down. When ever Cory got angry, something in proximity to her seemed to break. "What was it, what was it?" she asked herself over and over, trying to remember what it was once more. It had to do with school, something she desperately needed.
She smacked her forehead, feeling completely stupid. "My wand..." Of course, she totally forgot that her parents had always put her wand away when she came home, but it really didn't matter as Cory's feelings and emotions always got her into trouble with her magic. But she needed to pack it now if she didn't want to forget it. She remembered her very first year when she did forget it and her mother's poor old owl had to catch up to the speeding Hogwarts Express.
But her parent's weren't home, and she had no idea where they put it. She walked out of her room and into the large corridor-like hallway. She wasn't that far from the staircase leading down into the entrance hall, so she heard the loud echoing knock that was from the front door.

Demeter had been at home, meaning to start packing but hadn't got round to it. She looked at her almost empty trunk, she preffered home to Hogwarts, granted before she got her parents back she had preffered Hogwarts over going back to the Malfoy manor - she did love staying with the Malfoys but there she wasn't allowed to use magic as she wasn't 17 then. Now she was 17 nearly 18 and she had her mom and dad back which was the best feeling in the world.
She picked her wand up from the side, tucking it into the side of her jeans. She would get one of the house elves to finish off her packing later. "Mum?" She shouted as she went down the many stair cases. "I'm going to see Coryn. Any messages you want passing on?" She asked when she eventually found Bella. She waited a bit for her mother's reply but none came, she was too distracted. Demi couldn't blame her, it was a while since they had heard from Rodolphus as he was on a mission for the dark lord.
She sighed slightly as she shut the door. Walking out of the manor she turned on the spot and apparated to Lestrange manor. She knocked on the door smartly as she waited for someone to answer.

Cory walked down, wondering who it could possibly be. She had no idea in the world, but then again her mind was too preoccupied with finding where her wand was. She sighed, wondering where the house-elves or maids, or whatever were. She placed a hand on the railing, hoping that she wouldn't fall or trip, or do anything to actually hurt herself. The steps of her converse sneakers, which she wasn't even supposed to be wearing in the house, echoed and she came to the door, unscathed by her own clumsiness, which showed itself too often. Stupid house elves, she thought bitterly, looking back around to see if anyone was coming. Can't even open the door... She reached for the doorknob turning and opening the door slowly. She really wasn't supposed to open the door, unless her mum and/or dad was home.
Light flooded in from the oustside, and her eyes squinted from the brightness. A sillouette stood in front of her, but she couldn't see who it was, until her eyes got used to it. "Oh... hi..." she said, seeing her cousin Demeter standing there. "Come on in..." she said, standing back, letting the door follow her. She wondered what her cousin could be doing here. Her ice blue eyes were widened from the shock of a suprise visit. They really didn't know each other that well. But her eyes softened as she smiled. "So... what do you want... or need?" she asked, watching her cousin step through the threshold.

She tapped her foot slightly as she waited, Demi was not a patient person at all. Another thing she had inherited from her mother, she was an almost double of her in looks from when Bellatrix was her age. Everyone commented on how much Demeter looked like her. She glanced down at her freshly polished nails, she had decided to color them black. It wasn't often you would see in another color, she wouldn't really wear bright things.. unless forced. Though these days only a few people could make Demi do anything that she didn't want to do.
When her younger cousin answered the door, she didn't smile. Though Cory did get a sort of small smile. Only a few people had actually seen a true smile from her. She followed Cory in, She raised her eyebrows at her question why did people just assume that she needed something if she turned up unexpected? "Is it a crime to come and visit my little cousin?" She asked with a slight snap as the door closed and they were once again in darkness that Demi was accustomed to at her own house. So it was true, they didn't really know each other and when they had first met they hadn't got off to a very good start.
The first time Demi met her younger cousin was when she had just started her 3rd year at Hogwarts. Demeter and Damian didn't even know that they had a younger cousin, as far as they knew they were the youngest in the Lestrange family. Demeter had been less than friendly to Cory - ok she was down right horrible to her at first. But she wasn't as cruel to her anymore, after all Cory was her cousin and when her father broke out of Azkaban along with her mother and uncle Rabastan, her father made her promise to get along with Cory. Now even though they didn't know each other that well, Demeter would still stand up for her and wouldn't let anyone say anything bad about her. If they messed with Cory they messed with her.
"You haven't heard anything from my Dad have you?" she asked simply.

She rolled her eyes only slightly, though she expected the snap in the reply. Her smile faltered, as Demeter didn't smile and she coughed only slightly. She felt kind of awkward. "No... but you don't come over very often... unless you're passing messages along..." Cory replied, in a copy of Demeter's tone, but not exact. Cory wasn't really a cruel person, unless she had to be. "But my Mum and Dad aren't home... they're out somewhere..." she explained, regarding the emptiness of her home. She sighed, turning back around and glancing back. She honestly had no idea what they were going to do, unless Demeter wanted to help Cory find her wand and finish packing, but Cory doubted it.
"No I haven't heard anything at all... whenever anyone around here talks about that buisness, they always use the Muffliato charm, so I can't hear anything..." she said, a scowl coming to her face. "Sorry... I'm really worried about him too..." she said, heading towards the steps. She took a few more up, before coming to a standstill. "Demi..." she said, using her cousin's nickname now, though she was absolutely unsure if she even could've. "Do you think you could help me find my wand?" she asked, though she figured that now she would be made fun of for even loosing it.
She was used it though. She was the youngest, it was part of her life. Demeter didn't so much anymore, but Damian... that was a completely different story. But even though they did that, they did protect her from any trouble, though Cory was completely capible of handling her own safety, even though she was completely clumsy.

"Well no messages to be passed on." She said simply. "Mum's pretty worried about Dad." and honestly so was she. She had already lost her parents once already. She wasn't prepared to lose them all over again. She had to grow up without them, now she had them back she didn't want to have to lose them again. "Actually we both are..." And that was the first time she had admitted it to anyone apart from her mother and brother.
"They'll be on some kind of mission for the Dark Lord." Like her own dad was but he had been gone for nearly two weeks now, and Demeter was getting very worried about him, as were her mother, who's mood was to times worse than usual with the worry. When she said that every time Rabastan and Cassandra was talking about any type of things to do with the Dark Lord then they would use the Muffliato charm, the Malfoys used to do that all the time after they caught Demeter and Damian trying to listen in on their conversation. "They'll be back before you know it." She said trying to sound reassuring for Cory's sake.
She looked up when she used her nickname, there was a time when Demeter would have hexed Cory for even thinking about using her nickname but that was a few years ago and Demeter was a lot nicer to Cory than what she once was. "How can you lose your wand?" It was one thing that you kept with you at all times, well at least Demi did - but that might just be her that did that. She was going to go on and tease Cory for even losing it but she stopped herself "Fine, I'll help. Gives me something to do." It would take her mind off everything that was going on in her head.

It was the first time she had heard Demeter ever say anything like that. She looked around at her, suprised that her cousin had 'gone soft', even for a moment. However, Cory knew how her cousin felt. They both grew up without parents, well Cory had her mum still, but the twins had no one, just the Malfoys. "I know... I can tell..." she said, as she headed up the steps more.
Cory sighed. "But my Mum... she isn't even a..." she trailed off, not wanting to say it. Well, her mother wasn't a Death Eater as far as she, Cory, knew. Dad had been gone for the past week, while her mum was gone for at least a few days. Maybe... she thought to herself, though not wanting to think about the possibility. "I really hope so, having to be stuck around here with no one, besides the house-elves and such... I don't like it... I don't like being alone..." she said, with a silent gulp.
"I didn't loose it!!! I'm not that thick!" Cory said defensively, her eyes flashing dangerously, and her voice getting louder almost at a shouting range. But she knew who she was dealing with here, but she sometimes couldn't help it. Her temper was getting a bit out of control again, but she gripped onto the banister. "Mum and Dad take it away, so during the summer I don't use any magic... but it really doesn't help much... I think in the past month I've blown up two couches... and my bed..." she said.

"What?" she asked as Cory looked around at her all surprised, well Demeter did have a nicer side even if she didn't show it. She cared a lot for her family, which was why she was protective of them, as they were protective of her. "I'm protective of my family, which includes you and my brother is a jerk so just ignore him." She said simply knowing that Damian did get to Cory.
She rolled her eyes, as Cory said that her mom wasn't even a Death Eater. Demi couldn't comment, she didn't know. Even Demi wasn't a death eater - she didn't have the dark mark. Her mom wouldn't let her get the dark mark until she finished her studies which completely sucked. and Demi had told her mom that several times but you couldn't win an argument against Bellatrix.
"Never said you were thick." She said as she followed her up the stairs. "I don't see how you can lose your wand... I keep it on me at all times though that might just be me." Some said she was paranoid, but Demi just liked to think she was prepared. Well Cory definitely had the Lestrange temper. "I used to do that all the time." She said when cory said that she had blew up two couches as her own bed. She still did blow things up when she lost her temper. "Actually I still do that."

Reaching the second floor landing, Cory went on to the study, where everything magical was always kept. Cory figured it had to be in here somewhere, she looked back at Demeter as she followed. "Just look anywhere, it doesn't matter, the elves will clean up the mess..." she said, starting to rumage through the drawers of the large mahogany desk. Nothing but papers, quills, ink bottles, etc. She growled, and moved through all of them. Nothing once more.
She started to move over to the cabinets, filled with magical artifacts, dark and regular alike. Most of them were from when her paternal grandparents lived here, but some were collected by both Rodolphus and Rabastian. She was careful not to really disturb any of them. But as it was Cory, something toppled over and fell to the stone floor with a loud, echoing crash. "Heh heh... my bad," she said embarressment showing in her face and in her voice.

"Well its the only thing they are good at." She said once her cousin said that the house elves would clean everything up. Demeter was foul to the house elves that they had at home though some people would say that Demeter was almost kind compared to how Bellatrix treated them. Particularly when her mother was pissed off. She smiled, amused slightly as she watched Cory look for her wand.
She jumped when something toppled over smashing at her feet, the thing had missed her by just a few inches. She threw Cory at cold look, if looks could kill then her dear cousin wouldn't have stood a chance. She decided to put her cousin out of her misery. "Accio Cory's wand." She said simply, with a lazy flick of her wand. And soon enough Cory's wand flew from one of the cabinates and landed in Demi's hand. "That was easy." She said handing Cory her wand. Her smirked at her younger cousin, just searching for the wand the muggle way would have never found that wand.

Noticing the cold look, Cory blushed a deep deep red. "Like I said... my bad..." she said, her voice becoming slightly weaker from the stare she had recieved. She then saw Demeter whip out her wand, summoning her's with ease.
Cory grinned brightly as she took it from her cousin's hands. It seemed to tremble in her hands from being away from it's current location for so long. "Well, I can't do magic, still underage..." she growled, obviously upset that she couldn't just wave her hands or wand to summon anything. She noticed the smirk however, knowing that it was Demeter's silent way af making fun of her. Yeah... let's just make fun of Cory, 'cause she's the youngest and can't do magic... she thought to herself, tucking the wand in her back pocket and scowling.

"You'll be 17 soon enough little cous." She said simply as she glanced round at some of the dark objects that were around. She would fix the thing that Cory broke with a simply flick of her wand - if she felt like it. Though she might just leave it for the house elves to clean up. though her eyes fell on a photograph, it was of her aunt and uncle with Demi and Damian when they were babies. Rabastian holding her and Cassandra holding Damian. "We have this photo at home." She said picking it up. Though the one they had at the black manor was not in as good condition of what this one was.
She put the photo down where she found it before she turned to look at Cory again. Her arms folded across her chest, she was bored. She had come over to see Cory to get away from boredom, not she was straight back into boredom.

((finally on... then it's back to being off at the end of the weekend... ><; )
Cory smiled as she looked at the photo. "I like it..." she said, her eyes falling to all the photos of herself and her parents. There weren't any of her with her aunt and uncle. They had been thrown in Azkaban before any could be taken. She walked over and sat down in the giant chair behind the desk, picking up the pipe and pretending to smoke it. Completely immature, but she really didn't care.
She sighed, noticing the bored look on Demeter's face. "Sorry that there's nothing else to do around here. Least you have your Mum and brother... I've got no one..." she said, referring to being alone once more. She wasn't used to it, she always had someone around, and now she just felt, well... unloved. They hadn't told her they were leaving, probably because she would've begged to go with them.
A soft tapping noise could be heard and Cory looked over to the large window. A barn owl hovered there, a letter tied to it's leg. She got up and rushed over opening the window. "Gylfie..." she muttered, taking the letter off the leg and watching the bird fly to her perch. She looked down at the letter, instantly recognizing her father's handwriting. She opened it, reading it hurriedly. "Demi... it's my dad... and they found yours..." she said rather excitedly, waiting for her cousin's expression.

"Well you should come round to Black Manor more often." Demeter said simply. "Mum would love the company." Bellatrix had only met Coryn once before and that was at one of the families parties that they hosted. Demi hated the parties because they always tried to set her up with some guy that she really wasn't interested in so Demi would usually just end up hurting the poor guy. "Though I would warn her before you go over, mum doesn't like unexpected company."
She sat down on one of the chairs, coughing as dust came out of the chair as she sat down. The house elves really needed to work on their cleaning skills. She picked up one of the books that was on the side table next to the chair, it was completely covered in dust. "Your house elves really need to be put into shape." She said as she ran her finger across the cover and looked at the dust on her finger it was about 3 inches thick with the stuff.
She looked round when she heard the tap on the window, she watched as her cousin read the letter. "My dad? they've found my dad?" She questioned, then her face lit up. "They've honestly found him and he's alright." She smiled a true smile, Coryn had probably never seen Demeter really smile. But she was so happy that she didn't care, they had found her dad. She felt so much relief from been really worried for the last few weeks. She took the letter from Coryn as she read some of it herself. "He's safe and well, and he should be home soon.." She was excited about seeing her father again.

Cory nodded. "Just no parties or dinners please... we've had enough of them here..." she said rolling her eyes. She hated parties, Mum hosted them with her friends and their sons. Mum always tried to set her up, but Cory never came out of her room, or she always snuck off. "Alright..." she said, trying to remember that bit of info, for next time.
She looked to the desks. "They're not allowed in here. Mum and Dad manually clean everything. Too paranoid that they might steal something or whatever..." she said, looking at the examinating finger her cousin held up. "And I don't clean anything excpet my own room..." A slightly spoiled girl, but Coryn did have resposibilities that she lived up to.
Coryn beamed as her cousin did. "Thank God..." she said, though she figured her mum would be shorter than the males. "But it doesn't say where they're at... guess that doesn't matter, just so long as they're alright...." she said, sitting upon the desk, her wand shooting sparks out of it's tip as it clunked against the desk top. "We should have a welcome home party or something like it..." she said, remembering the small party they held when they escaped Azkaban.
